History of Skip Cancel:
Nearly 25 years ago I was
looking for a good
Skipper
W stallion that I could cross on our
Speedy II
cow horses.
Speedy II
was the very best son of
Driftwood.
A very underrated stallion, but his foals were
outstanding cow horses. In the early
1970's my father acquired a daughter of
Speedy II
by the name of
Speedy’s Lass.
We raised some really nice cow horses our of her
to use on the family ranch in Colorado. We
have kept this family line alive through two of
her daughters Callmespeedyto and
Kuhl Calamity
Rose. These two mares have given
us some really nice horses that are now the
basis for our broodmare band.
Callmespeedyto was bred to Skip Cancel which
produces our senior stallion Callmeskipperto.
He was proven to be a very good stallion.
We have three of his daughters in the broodmare
band and one of his daughters working at the
ranch in Mangas. These are off the charts
good horses. I knew that when we combined
the
Skipper
W line with the
Driftwood
line this would be the basis for an excellent
cross that would produce superior horses with
speed, stamina and cow sense.
Skip Cancel
blood runs through our horses and is the basis
for the even temperament that our horses
display.
Skip Cancel
had two grandsires that were both AQHA
champions. He goes back five times and you
will find the very best of Hank Wiescamps horses
in his family tree. Skipador, Skip Fleet,
Sailalong, Skipper's King, Skipperette, Skip 3
Bar and Bar Mount. |
